Thames Valley Council for Community Action (TVCCA) is celebrating its 60th Anniversary in style with a brand-new event—the Sound Waves Music Festival—on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 12 PM to 5 PM at McCook Point Park in Niantic (rain date September 13). This family-friendly festival will feature four live bands, food trucks, local vendors, and stunning ocean views. The Sound Waves Music Festival follows the success of TVCCA’s first-ever Mini Golf Tournament in June at Copper Creek Mini Golf Course in Oakdale. “We’re thrilled to be launching another signature fundraiser for TVCCA,” said Josh Kelly, CEO of TVCCA. “Mini golf was a hit, and Sound Waves promises to be even bigger—music, food, community, and a cause that matters.” Guests can expect an afternoon filled with great tunes, delicious bites from popular regional food trucks, and unique finds from artisan vendors. The festival will also feature TVCCA’s own Cruisin’ Cafe, serving crowd favorites to benefit the agency’s Meals on Wheels program. “McCook Point Park is one of our region’s treasures,” said Sherry Perkins, TVCCA’s Assistant Director of Fundraising and Events. “The setting, the music, and the food trucks create the perfect recipe for a day people will remember—and want to come back to year after year.” Proceeds will support more than 20 programs and services—from early childhood education and housing support to Meals on Wheels and energy assistance—helping thousands of residents across New London and Windham counties each year. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth ages 12–17, and free for children under 12. Purchase at https://www.tvcca.org/events or at the gate.
